Blogging From A to Z Challenge – Theme Reveal!

In the past few years, I’ve seen bloggers participate in the Blogging From A to Z Challenge. After picking a theme, they post something about that theme every day during the month of April (not including Sundays). I’d considered doing it, but this is the first year I’ve actually done the necessary work of picking a theme and outlining a list of posts.

Blogging A-Z

So throughout the month of April, I’ll be posting on the theme of: Story Stuff.

Each post will be on the topic of developing a story in some way or another. Some posts will also include pieces of flash fiction, as I want to stay on schedule but also keep my flash game strong (that sounds naughty. Writing. I’m talking about writing). The posts will likely be shorter than my “normal” offerings, but I hope they will lead to some lively conversation in the comment sections.

And for those of you who like sneak peeks (geez – still talking about writing!), here are the topics (or if you’re reading after they’re published, there will be links):

A – Agency

B – Best friends (supporting characters)

C – Conflict

D – Dialogue

E – External motivation

F – Foreshadowing

G – Growth (arcs)

H – Humor

I – Internal motivation

J – “Just” and other crutches

K – Killing our darlings

L – Likable vs. Livable

M – Men

N – Names

O – Onomatopoeia and other sensory words

P – Point of view

Q – Questions

R – Romance

S – Stereotypes

T – Tenses

U – Underwear (know thy characters)

V – Victory and defeat

W – Women

X – eXclamation marks and other punctuation

Y – Young characters

Z – Zippers and other seemingly minor details

There you have it! Make a note to pop in and check out your favorite topics, and I’ll see you in the blogosphere!
