When I entered the author and blogging world over a decade ago, I started writing short fiction in addition to novels. Over the years, they accumulated in this space…over eighty were published here!

Because they weren’t being widely read, I decided to take a step to reach more readers: put those stories into a single book. And with that, Dancing on Rocks was born.

If you’ve followed the blog for a while, you’ll likely recognize some of the stories. They span over a dozen genres and include drabbles (stories up to 100 words), flash pieces (stories 100 to 1,000 words), and short stories (anything up to 10,000 words). In editing and formatting it, I discovered old favorites: pieces that made me laugh, touched my heart, and brought me back to the place I was when I wrote them. A couple of them include characters from my novels (specifically The Fourth Descendant and Drake and the Fliers).
