What Did You Like? 2015 In Review

sylvester-534233_1280I’ve never done a year-end post on the blog, but you guys made this an awesome year so I thought one was warranted.

First, some stats as of 12/28.

This graph shows overall stats for the past three years. You can see why I said 2015 was awesome.

blog stats

Including pages and a few reblogs, 103 posts were published. The most popular post, page-view wise was Songs To Teach Figurative Language with 2,549 views. Let’s call that an outlier because it was also the most searched post. Something went right with the SEO on that one.

Removing that outlier from the stats, here’s how the other 2015 posts shook out:

Most page views: We Need To Go Deeper – Into POV, That Is

The Not Doing Nano post had the most likes and comments by far. The next three in each of those categories were:

Most likes: 7 Ways Writing Short Stories Can Make You a Better Novelist, I Will, and 5 Things I Learned From My Kitten.

Most comments: Can Twitter Really Help An Author? and Can Twitter Hashtags Grow Your Following?. I Will and the Kitten post tied with Hashtags in the number of comments.

Short stories are different than standard posts, so I’m listing separate stats for those.

Most viewed short story: Talus

Most liked short story: My Star

Most commented short story: The Eye of the Fairy

But if we’re counting the Haiku post as a short story, it had the most views and comments.

So that’s how the blog did in 2015! Did your favorite post make any of these lists?

Thanks for reading, liking, and commenting! I’m looking forward to an even awesomer 2016.
