Fashion Show Or Costume Party?

I am not someone who pays any amount of attention to fashion trends. Remember the incident with the yoga pants? But I love seeing pictures from fashion shows, and not so much for the up-and-coming trends to watch for. I like seeing the goofy costume-like outfits that fashion designers thrust on to innocent models and expect the rest of us to take seriously. Of course, now that I’ve read and seen The Hunger Games, I bet these fashions would probably work in the Capitol.

Take, for example, this young lady. I can’t decide what I like more: the too-small sweater that is looking at the audience or the green anemone on her head. I challenge you to wear this to your next family reunion. Below are some other amusing examples of the work of the costume fashion industry.

There are no words. Let freedom ring, I guess.
It’s not just women who are forced to look
ridiculous. “Yes sir, I would love to wear material
set in a bun on my head whilst wearing the silhouette of
my mother on my front.”
This poor girl probably didn’t wake up thinking
she would have to dress up like a green bath mat, or maybe
some kind of rare sea creature.

I bet she’s thinking, “Maybe if I engage these propellers,
I can take off and go find my dignity.”

I know what I’m wearing the next time I go to a wedding!

I could go on and on. When I look at these, I can’t help but wonder if the whole fashion industry is trolling us. Maybe designers have their serious collections, but they also have silly stuff they put out there just to see if we’ll take it seriously. I can’t wait to see what they come up with next.
